چکیده

The Variance-Gamma model has analytical formulae for the values of European calls and puts. These formulae have to be computed using numerical methods. In general, option valuation may require the use of numerical methods including PDE methods, lattice methods, and Monte Carlo methods. We investigate the use of Monte Carlo methods in the Variance-Gamma model. We demonstrate how a gamma bridge process can be constructed. Using the bridge together with stratified sampling we obtain considerable speed improvements over a plain Monte Carlo method when pricing path-dependent options. The method is illustrated by pricing lookback, average rate and barrier options in the Variance-Gamma model. We find the method is up to around 400 times faster than plain Monte Carlo. ∗Corresponding author. Efficient Monte Carlo and Quasi - Monte Carlo Option Pricing Under the Variance Gamma Model

W develop and study efficient Monte Carlo algorithms for pricing path-dependent options with the variance gamma model. The key ingredient is difference-of-gamma bridge sampling, based on the representation of a variance gamma process as the difference of two increasing gamma processes. For typical payoffs, we obtain a pair of estimators (named low and high) with expectations that (1) are monoto...

Comparison dose distributions from gamma knife unit 4C with CT data and non-CT data options of beamnrc code

Todays gamma knife radiosurgery is used widely for treatment of very small brain tumors. In order to investigate accuracy of dosimetry and treatment planning calculations, using Monte Carlo simulation with dedicated code named as beamnrc including non-CT data and CT data options is necessary. The aim of this study is choosing the best options in order to have an accurate tools based on their ad...

Exact simulation of Bessel diffusions

We consider the exact path sampling of the squared Bessel process and some other continuous-time Markov processes, such as the CIR model, constant elasticity of variance diffusion model, and hypergeometric diffusions, which can all be obtained from a squared Bessel process by using a change of variable, time and scale transformation, and/or change of measure. All these diffusions are broadly us...

Study on effect of detector type in estimating buildup factor of gamma-rays by monte carlo simulation based on variance reduction

This paper presents the study on the effect of detector type in estimating gamma rays buildup factor. In this regard, the flux buildup factors of gamma rays emitted by an isotropic point 60Co source in mean energy 1.253 MeV was evaluated after passing through the Pb, W, Zn, and Ti sample in thickness of 1-5 cm by MCNPX. Four common detector types in simulation of measurement was defined to esti...
